Are Äventyrsfestival in Sweden

Pure nature! Summer in Sweden that means endless forrests, uncounted lakes, rivers and waterfalls, mountains with snow at the top. And nearly 24 hours sunlight per day.

From 28. June until 04. July 2004 the Äventyrsfestival in Are took place.In the middle of Sweden, half way between the Norwegian Trondheim and the Swedish Östersund
kajaker, mountainbiker, hillsprinter, climber, skateboarddownhiller and paraglider met together to show their performance at this outdoorevent.

In a three-days technical seminar MadMikeKüng show some basic acro skills to Swedish pilots.

At first the students had to do some SAT dry trainings. With closed eyes, absolutely concentrated and with full body dedication the pilots examined the correct movements on the ground.

But „real flying“ is much more beautiful. The starting place was on the top of the 1420 metres high Areskutan or at 930 metres high Mörvikshummeln.

The landing field is directely at the lake Aresjön, 372 metres above sealevel.

What to do if the wind at the mountain is to strong? No problem! Then you can do boat towing in Are.

MadMike discovered another alternative program for windy days: construction climbing. Mike was climbing with his paraglider up to the workmen shack, the truck trailers and at the new building. From now on he had the name „Spindelmannen“.

Highlight of this adventure event was MadMikeKüngs AcroShow above the festival area in Are.
After the jumps out of the helicopter or after the mountain take offs MadMike mixed up the air above the heads of the spectators and coloured the sky orange.

Finally he landed on the roof of the supermarket directely in front of the cameras of the Swedish TV sender „svt“. The public was cheering.

A perfectly organized festival! Whole day flying, party with superfriendly people. It’s really worth to travel to Sweden! Guaranteed!
