at Vienna Donau Isle Festival
Streams of visitors as far
as the eye can see, high spirit and perfect weather conditions. The
22nd Donau Isle Festival beats all records. During the three festival
days from 24. to 26. of June 3 million guests appear to Europe`s biggest
Open Air Festival. Simply on Saturday 1.2 million people arrive on
the island.
Nena,
Fettes Brot, Silbermond, die Söhne Mannheims, Element of Crime,
Samy Deluxe. Only some names making the Vienna Celebration
to a meeting point for numberless fans.
On the 6.5 kilometres long fairground are 22
stages, 250 sales boothes und around 2000 musicans,
dancers, gamblers. And one paragliding pilot. In
1000 metres height above the roofs of the Austrian capital city MadMikeKüng
climbs out of the Ö3-radio-helicopter and fall
backwards into the depth.
A 3-minutes aerobattle show above the heads of countless spectators
follows. Finally MadMike lands next to the main tribune. “The
island looks like a swarming ant-hill. It`s faszinating to make a
show in front of such a huge public!”
